Andragogy is principles and approaches used in adult education. Two basic knowledge of andragogy includes:

It is a science of understanding and enhancing learning in adults.

It is based on a humanistic view of self-directed and autonomous learning, which views teachers as facilitators of learning.

Pros and cons of andragogy
PROS
Andragogy involves self-directed, which allows adult learners to manage their learning conditions. It is general and can be applied to a range of situations. Adult learners are viewed to be more organised and accountable to their learning. Previous backgrounds and experiences can benefit the learning experience and may allow the learner to consider what is important to them.
CONS
Andragogy does not describe learning of people who come from different cultural backgrounds and do not have knowledge of what they are learning. Besides, it does not acknowledge the need of individuals who have a learning difficulty. Andragogy does not describe the development of the physical, intellectual and emotional aspects of learning in adults.
